Try some extreme water sports, a camel ride for the tourist experience or book a bike tour inland for a glimpse of life in the local villages.
Get caught up in the Swahili rhythms and the rise and fall of the tides, life here moves to its own beat. Thanks to the history of trade between Africa, India and Arabia, the coast has a unique feel, different to the rest of Kenya. Its people, the coastal people, have created a real passion you will feel in their way of life and flavor of their food.

Day 1:

Pick up at 6:00 am in Westlands for a prompt departure at 6:30 am. Drive for approximately 8 hrs. to Mombasa town, we shall then cross the ferry and drive for 45 mins to Ukunda town and arrive at Safari Beach Hotel for the beginning of your beach. If time allows, an evening ride to corner ya chale and wind down for dinner around the Bonfire. – in a PSV vehicle the drive will most probably take 10 hours, I doubt you will be able to do any riding that day.

Day 2:

Our first stop of the day will be the Jungle snake park, where we shall learn more about the snakes and other wildlife kept in this community led project. We will start our bike ride at 8.30 am and ride for approximately 4 hrs to arrive at the Shimba Hills National Park. Here we will embark on a guided forest walk up to the scenic and beautiful Sheldrick Falls. This park is the only place in Kenya where you can see Sable Antelope. Packed lunch will be served at the Falls and thereafter we will head back to the campsite and enjoy some free time in which to head to the beach. Dinner will be served at the campsite.

Day 3:

We will begin the tour by bus to the Msambweni Junction; a _____ drive to the location that marks the start of our bike ride. The ride be a scenic ride through lovely coastal landscapes to arrive at Funzi Island where we shall have our packed lunch served. The rest of the afternoon will be spent visiting the village on Funzi Island for those who so desire or in taking a tour of the cultural sites and the local market. If the tides allow we can visit the sandbank island for some swimming and make the most of this little piece of paradise. Dinner will be served at 7.00 pm.

Day 4:

We shall depart from the Funzi campsite to start our Dhow excursion at ______am, beginning with a trip up the Ramisi River which abounds with exceptional birdlife and, who knows, even the occasional crocodile. We shall then head out to do some Dolphin watching and later arrive at the marine park for snorkeling and an opportunity to immerse yourself in wonderful scenery at the heart of a bay full of islands protected by a coral reef. We shall then head to Wasini Island to sample some seafood specialties: crab, grilled rock lobster and catch of the day. After visiting the local community board-walk we shall then return to the mainland (Shimoni town) by boat. We shall then drive back to the Diani campsite.

Day 5:

Open day for people to explore Diani e.g Water sports, shopping, cultural sites etc.

Day 6:

Drive back to Nairobi with fond memories of the Coast
