Located off the busy Nairobi – Magadi Road close to Ongata Rongai Town, Tuala is one of the routes that test your guts
Designed to accommodate riders of all levels by offering a new way to explore. Biking and hiking Tuala is safe, and you might meet a playful family of baboons walking by the roadside. Enjoy the beautiful views of Nairobi city, Nairobi National park, and Ngong hills from one destination. An excellent cycling route characterized by rocky and dusty paths. Zebras might be sighted, and of course, the savanna vegetation with shrubs and acacias.
An early departure from Westlands with a target of 8 am start. Easy start of the day with bits of tarmac before heading off to an offroad leading us to the amazing gorge view. After satisfying our eyes, we hit the dusty roads of tuala town down past the standard gauge railway and deep into the quarries where stone mining happens. We will then start ascending for our second part of the day which will be met by a rewarding view of the Nairobi City and if luck is on our side we will be able to view zebras and gazelles grazing on the plains.
The remaining part of the ride will take us back through the town and back to our start point
