Kijabe gets its Name from the Masai name ‘donyo kejabe’ which translates to ‘Gold mountain’. A haven of green located just 50kms from Nairobi just at the edge of the Rift Valley standing at 2200 M with a high of 2688 M above sea level on its highest point.
A challenging trek for hikers of all levels (beginners - seasoned).
Start off with an easy walk along the railway lines before crackling in the woods leading you to beautiful caves and hot springs and the famous railway tunnels.
Proceed on to a 2-3 kms ascent to the highest point of kijabe, standing at 2,688M met by a mouth gaping view of the rift valley, with a glimpse of Mt. Longonot seen from afar.
Descend through the planted forest region and local shambas to finish your hike.
